Cornichon is the French word for gherkin, or a small variety of cucumber. Pickled to a crunchy, tender texture, they are the traditional European accompaniment to pâté and cold meats, and in Switzerland, fondue or Raclette nearly always arrives accompanied with the little pickles.
Suggestions for Serving:
Wonderful tucked into a baguette sandwich, they are also perfect for snacking, and they're the key ingredient to truly delicious tartar sauce.
