The Chalkidiki or Halkidiki olive is named for the peninsula in northeastern Greece east of city of Thessalonika where this variety flourishes. Most people encounter the Chalkidiki olive as the classic, large to medium green olives that have been cured in salt. Again, you will find most have been packed in vinegar or brine, but the best are packed in olive oil. These top quality Chalkidikis have been pitted and stuffed with locally grown almons, They are great as a meze or in martinis. We hope you enjoy our little bit of Greece as much as we do.
